Rhett Moore
Senior Hydrologist

Rhett is Principal Hydrologist at WHPA. His expertise is hydrologic investigations for resource assessments, TMDLs, water-supply development and planning, and wellfield design and optimization.

After obtaining his Bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee in Engineering and his Master's degree at Indiana University in Environmental Science, he worked for 8 years with the USGS on basin-scale water-quality assessments as part of the National Water Quality Assessment Program (NAWQA). Rhett has planned and managed large and small-scale hydrologic field investigations, installed monitoring networks, and collected thousands of water-quality samples. He has validated and managed large water-quality datasets for RCRA programs and assessed the quality of receiving waters for NPDES purposes.

Rhett combines the use of analytical and numerical models with his field expertise to solve groundwater and surface water problems. He has used groundwater flow models for projects involving water-supply management and development and surface water models for TMDL development. He has also performed aquifer tests, provided oversight for well design and construction, and evaluated hydrologic data from operating well fields to assess system performance.

Rhett also has more than two decades of experience paddling whitewater rivers throughout the United States.
