Marnell is a member of the executive management team. As Director of Administration, Marnell has broad authority regarding the strategic duties related to the business operation in the office.
In addition to the day-to-day tracking of project costs and financial responsibilities of the office, Marnell manages the budget, recommends profit-enhancing strategies for earnings results, and prepares month and year-end financial reports.
As a member of the executive team, Marnell responds to management and employee questions on HR matters, conducts investigations as needed to resolve employee relations or legal issues, and develops various programs, plans, policies, and procedures that are a necessary part of the office operation.
Marnell began her career in Molecular Biology at Miles Laboratories, Inc. where she specialized in Yeast Genetics in the Department of Biosynthesis Research. Her research centered on the production of the protein Human Serum Albumin in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Marnell handled DNA isolation, ligation, transformation and hybridization, and trained and supervised University of Notre Dame graduate students on DNA sequencing techniques. Marnell continued her work in Molecular Biology under the supervision of Judith Jaening, Ph.D. at Indiana University researching the Eukaryotic Transcription of Mitochondrial DNA.
Marnell's interests in the business sector were refined during her tenure at Textillery Weavers as Regional Customer Service Manager. While leading twenty sales representatives, Marnell helped Textillery grow to the number one manufacturer of hand-woven chenille throws in the United States.
