Erica Amt
Environmental Scientist

Erica is an environmental scientist at WHPA, Inc. She received a B.A. from DePauw University in Environmental GeoScience. During her undergraduate studies, she conducted research on the impact of acid mine drainage on stream sediments from an abandoned mine. After graduation, she spent a year in northern Indiana serving in AmeriCorps where she led a team that assisted the Indiana chapter of the Nature Conservancy in restoration projects throughout the state.

After AmeriCorps, Erica attended the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at IU where she completed a Master of Science in Environmental Science and a Master of Public Affairs. Erica’s concentration during her masters was Water Resources. She developed a strong interest in habitat restoration, aquatic systems, and GIS. While finishing her masters, she worked at the Indiana Geological Survey in the Geochemistry section analyzing well samples from reclaimed Indiana mines. She also conducted field work and assisted on acid mine drainage research.

Currently at WHPA, Erica is involved with water conservation projects and wellhead protection.
